The Copyright Project plans to educate and enable paralegals to administer the basic intellectual property management services at the grassroots. This initiative contributes to the array of long term solutions enabling socioeconomic resilience and sustainable livelihoods for creative entrepreneurs. The first phase of this project is a pilot that will prototype the use of a IP management handbook tailored for the Kenyan Creative Economy. This tool will be utilized to educate paralegals – borrowing from the very successful healthcare delivery model that works with community health workers as the interface between the hospital (health facility) and the community. Working closely with KECOBO and Goethe Institute, The Copyright project by WIBO Culture Artcellerator will train and certify 40 Intellectual Property Management Agents (certified IPMA) in 4 counties in Kenya.
